A candidate for Papillion school board faced Class IV felony charges for bringing a loaded gun to a PLCS meeting in 2021
Is this really who you want on your school board, Papillion?
On November 8, 2021, security officers at a Papillion-LaVista Community Schools meeting noticed a metal clip on a man’s sweatpants as well as a bulge beneath that clip indicating the man had a gun. Since he was a white man, they didn’t do shit about it right away even though it is a felony to possess a gun in a school. Once the meeting was over, they asked the man, Edward Weniger, if he had a weapon. After several “non-commital answers”, the officers handcuffed and searched Weniger and found a semi-automatic handgun in his sweatpants (which seems like a great way to both get pantsed by and get your balls shot off with your own gun, but we digress). In his preliminary hearing in January of 2022 he was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm at a school which is a Class IV felony. The school had to send out a letter to all parents letting them know Weniger had shown up at the school carrying a gun, and at the next PLCS meeting, there were four security officers there instead of the usual two. Also, Weniger was banned from attending PLCS meetings. This is all pertinent information as Edward Weniger is now running for the PLCS school board with the endorsements of national extremist group Moms for Liberty, local hate group Protect Nebraska Children, and insurrectionist and head committeewoman of the NEGOP, Fanchon Blythe.
We are unsure how he would be able to fulfill his duties if elected as he is banned from attending PLCS meetings, so that would be a great question for his campaign. We also wonder why a group as obsessed with demanding that Democrats “define woman” would allow a man in their Moms group. Aren’t they worried he will see them doing things only women do like peeing but definitely not taking a shit? Shouldn’t their group be a safe space for moms, away from men? Can they define “mom”?
In a post in the Facebook group for local hate group Protect Nebraska Children, note how Weniger focuses on a subset of parents to represent instead of all the children in the district or some subset of children that he believes is left behind.
In addition to bringing a loaded semi-automatic weapon into a school and then lying to the cops about it, signing a pledge to an SPLC-designated extremist group, and hobnobbing with the local Christofascists, Edward Weniger is also the galaxy brain behind the Sarpy Conservatives twitter account as well as the Twitter account for his company Alpha BTC. The pinned tweet on that account references supercessionism which claims that Christianity made Judaism obsolete. One would think “Judaism is obsolete” is something that should be disqualifying for an elected office.
